Recommended Skill Analysis Tasks
Written Analysis: Analyze the following
- Stage: Identify the stage of the skill that is exhibited (e.g. beginner, intermediate, expert).
- Stage Characteristics: Describe 2-3 features of the movement on the video that is characteristic of the stage identified.
- What to Change: Identify and describe the most important aspect of the skill that will need to be changed for the subject to improve.
- Cue: Write the single most important verbal instructional cue to help the performer improve.

Beginners
Stage Characteristics:
1) Arms not extended overhead when started cartwheel.
2) Not rocking back on the back leg and then the forward leg for momentum.
3) Hands are not planted next to each other when doing a cartwheel.
What to Change:
1) Need to work on their core for balance
2) Need for back to forward momentum to help complete the movement.
3) Hand positioning will help you stay straight and erect.
Cue:
Suck in stomach to improve balance.
