Firing an arrow

Archery Analysis

Stage: intermediate

Stage Characteristics in this video: bow and arrow lifted to aim at target from pointing at the ground (not drawn from above the head). Thumb towards the face on the drawing hand, elbow up high after draw, aiming down the shaft of the arrow, opposite foot from the drawing arm is forward, and chest is pointing to the side.

What to Change: the release of the arrow is supposed to be somewhat of a surprise, and unless in a timed situation, should take longer then how quickly it was fired in this video. Also, when the arrow is released the hand is supposed to fall back across the cheek and to the ear area.

Cue: slide your thumb across your face on the release
