Stage: Intermediate
Stage characteristics: Receiver responds with a proper hand positioning with the arms extended to pull back the ball thumb to thumb, pinkie to pinkie and he does follow the ball in two of the three times.
What to change: Receiver needs to pull the ball in every time and although it is important to keep your eyes on the ball it’s equally important to keep your head up prepared for a hit.
Cue: tuck the ball and keep head up.

Pass Catch; Velasco

Pass catch

Stage: Expert

Stage Characteristics: Good stance, comfortable and relaxed, hands raised, elbows bent, eyes on target

What to change: Needs to work on tucking the ball after catching, only tucks the first time, doesn’t 2nd and 3rd catches. Although, I did get the feeling he was a good player, who knows to tuck the ball and likely always does during other more authentic situations

Cue: Secure ball by tucking it

Pass Catch

Stage: Intermediate/Expert

I think this guy could go either way. He does the main thing correctly each time, which is catching the ball. He bends his knees well and turns his hands when the ball is thrown below his waist. The balls that are thrown high he does a good job of not jumping which causes his eyes to move.

I wish he would build a diamond with his hands to allow the nose of the ball to enter through it and then allow his fingers to wrap around it. This is the only thing I wish he would have done a little better.

Cues:
Diamond
