Stage: Identify the stage of the skill that is exhibited (e.g. beginner, intermediate, expert).
The stage of skill for this video would be intermediate.
Stage Characteristics: Describe 2-3 features of the movement on the video that is characteristic of the stage identified.
The individual displayed some good dribbling skills with his left and right hand. The side to side dribbling was a characteristic of this stage. The between the leg dribbling was on the intermediate level as well as dribbling behind his back.
What to Change: Identify and describe the most important aspect of the skill that will need to be changed for the subject to improve.
First, the dribbler must keep his head up whiledribbling the basketball. Second, the individual needs to keep his knees bent while keeping his dribble low to the ground. He was dribbling the basketball to high in the video. Thirdly, while the player has decent dribbling skills, it is very noticeable that he does not handle the ball well. The player must continue to improve his dribbling skills. Lastly, the player should hone his passsing skills. The passer should ensure he is in a good passing position and follow through with the pass. Remembering palms out and thumbs down at the end of the motion.
Cue: Write the single most important verbal instructional cue to help the performer improve.
Keep your head up while you are dribbling the basketball.
