Relay Exchange: PES 294
Stage: Intermediate.
Stage Characteristics: Athletes had fairly good form but lacked synch. Outgoing runner had to pull up in order to recieve baton. Baton was passed correctly however using opposite arms.
What to change: Runners and handoff need to in synch. Outgoing runner may want to start a bit later to avoid having to pull up to accept baton.
Cue: Reminding the athletes to "stay in synch".
Stage: Intermediate Stage
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: Good speed originally. Passer hands off using opposite hand. Receiver slows down to get baton.
What to change: Receiver should keep up speed and not slow down.
Cue: Keep your speed.
Relay Exchange
stage: intermediate
Stage characteristics: The person receiving the paton has a good start but slowed down and turned around resulting the the other runner to run up on him
What to change: Start later so you can keep your speed without turning around or slowing down.
Cue: Excelerate faster and dont turn around
Stage: Intermediate Stage
Stage: Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: Receiver quickly gets up to speed but has to slow down and turn to accept the baton. They show how using opposite hands to correctly exchange the baton makes no footwork problems.
What to Change:
1. Timing needs to be right so the receiver doesn't start too early or have to turn to accept the stick.
2. Continue to run through your teammate while giving them the baton. This way they don't have to slow down to receive it.
Cue: Get the timing right.
Relay exchange
Stage: Beginner/Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: Runner left to early with not enough speed and had to slow down and turn to grab the baton.
What to change: Take off and speed up at right time. Don't turn to grab baton.
Cue: "get out of stance faster"
My analysis
THis is a begginner doing the exchange of the batone. One of the problems in this video is that the person trying to get the batone did not wait long enough for the runner to get close enough to him. Second problem is that the person getting the batone instead of just running he is looking back when you are supposed to just look forward and make sure you are staying in your lane. The most important aspect of the skill that needs to be changed is the person waiting for the batone needs to wait longer so he doesn't have to look back or stop on the track to wait for the person to catch up. The most important verbal cue is to tell the person good job but to tell the runner to slow down a little bit before taking off to wait for the runner to get close enough to hand off the batone.
Lookin Back
Stage:Expert
Characteristics: the hand off from one person to another while running. The runner that is reseving the stick should not look back. They should be able to talk without looking at each other.
Change: to learn the ques from your teammates so you know when to stick your hand out so the front runner does not have to look back.
Baton Exchange
Stage: Beginner/Intermediate
Stage Characteristics: This activity includes two people in a exchange of a baton while staying in your lanes running.
Want to Change: Making sure your cadences are in sync with both runners. Do not stop/slow down running or look back.
Cue: being in sync for the baton exchange.

3115 relay Exchange
Stage: Beginner
Stage characteristics: Runner receiving the baton started too soon, had handback however had to turn to see runner giving the baton, had to stretch too far to pass. They did however use the crossover technique.
What to change: Synchronize, synchronize, synchronize. Failure to synchronize results in poor handoff, inefficient starts, resulting in lost time, possible collisions or injuries.
Cue: Practice synchronized hand offs.
Track and Field Exchange
Stage: Beginner/Intermediate
Stage Characteristics:
-reciever slowed down
-low arm in exchange
-stayed in lanes
-reciever turned his head and hips
-passer had to stretch
What to Change:
-reciever should start later
-reciever should stay forward and not turn around
Cue:
-reciever should raise arm higher to make exchange smoother and easier
Relay Exchange
Stage: Beginner
Stage Characteristics: The athletes lacked synch. the athlete receiving the baton quickly gets up to speed but has to slow down and turn to receive the baton. the athlete that is handing off the baton tried to hand the baton off too early forcing him to lose his sprinting form and causing him to slow down. the athletes correctly handed off and received the baton by using opposite hands, but showed no signs of communication skills.
What to Change: together the athletes need to be more in unison. Before the race takes place they should get their steps correctly, that way the reciver knows when to take off. By doing this the athlete receiving the baton will not have to look back or have to slow down to receive the baton. The athletes need better communication skills. the athlete handing off the baton should yell "HAND" (or some other signaling word) signaling to the reciver to put his hand back. The athlete handing off the baton needs to be in a full sprint until he gets within a couple feet of the recevier.
Cue:Synchronize, and communication.
